McDonald’s has come up with a new sandwich made of snow crab, with the help of Ryan Scott, a former Top Chef contestant. The burger consists of snow crab meat mixed with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise and is served between buns, just like the typical one. Except it’s with crab.
For now, it’s only available in four restaurants in San Jose, CA. If the feedback will be good, the fast food giant will deliver the burger to over 200 locations in the area.
The snow crab isn’t expected to do bad, as it follows the Gilroy Garlic Fries tests in the same area, which went really well last summer.
“After the overwhelming success of our local favorite, McDonald’s Gilroy Garlic Fries, we wanted to test our own take on the beloved crab sandwich,” says Nick Vergis (Co-op McDonald’s President, San Francisco Bay Area) in a statement. “We’re excited for our customers to try it and share their feedback.”
Who knows? Maybe we can get the garlic fries and the crab sandwich together in a cheaper meal.
